Arden Wray is an award-winning portrait, fashion, and documentary photographer whose select clients and published work include British Vogue, the New York Times, GQ, Urban Outfitters, West Elm, Vogue Brazil, Elle España, Elle Indonesia, Fortnight Lingerie, BUST, and Flare. She is also a romantic who happens to have a big soft spot for weddings.
I feel a genuine drive to try to capture the sense of warmth and joy radiating from couples on this huge day so they can tap back into that feeling in the years to come when they revisit their photographs. I consider this role a major honour and responsibility. I want to make you feel your most beautiful and show you how you look to the people who love you, in the fleeting glimpses and quick movements you never get to see when you look at yourself in the mirror. I want this for you even if you are someone who hates getting your picture taken, and I promise to make it painless. I want to make you and your guests feel absolutely comfortable and supported. I want to give you images that you love and feel proud of. Just because you're hiring someone to photograph your wedding, doesn't mean you need to end up with "wedding photography."
Shooting weddings is by far the hardest work as a photographer I've ever done, but also some of the most meaningful and rewarding. It's a natural fit for the way I shoot everything - mostly candid, intimate, with a focus on capturing real energy and beauty. I work with natural light to create soft, moody, and atmospheric images. I'd love to chat with you about entrusting me to document your day.
